Welcome to Everyday CIO

April 30, 2009

I first experienced technology and computers in 1980 when I was 4 years old growing up on the Notre Dame campus in South Bend, IN.  Since then technology has been an integral part of my personal and professional life.

I am a father, a partner in a business, a husband, a son, a friend, a mentor.  The purpose of this blog is to explain how I have become the Chief Information Officer of organizations, my family, my friends, and myself.  How do you take this ever changing world of technology and apply it practically to your everyday life to truly improve it and empower yourself and others?

This blog is designed to try and answer that question through my personal and professional experiences.  Everyday CIO is also a look into the key approaches and concepts to get beyond technology for technology’s sake, to get beyond it as just a tool, and to understand how it can empower you and others to accomplish great things.

  2. Jinny,

I wish I had time to update it more.. but that “partner in a business” role is consuming to much of my time at the moment. Stay tuned though as I will be getting more active on here in the next couple of weeks.

    Thanks,
    Ian
